A villager emails about litter louts
We're so lucky to live in Bisley, it's such a beautiful and friendly village, but it seems like everywhere these days there is one scourge we can't seem to avoid - litter!
I know other places have it far worse, but please please please can people not throw stuff out of their cars but take it home instead and bin it properly!
Yesterday on a 45 minute walk through and around the village I collected: one Red Bull can, one Strongbow can, three crisp packets, one McDonalds fries container, one AAA battery, one empty cigarette packet.
Again, I know the problem is very minor here, and that villagers happily collect litter dropped by others (who often don't even live here I suspect!) but come on folks - please have some pride in our wonderful village!

A villager warns about ketamine
Dear Webmaster
Please mention on the site that ketamine is a serious issue for children and young people today.
A boy who was a friend of my son's has suffered terrible bladder issues from ‘ket', and now has to wear a nappy aged 19. I understand it is available in schools in Stroud from child dealers, and no doubt in other local schools and elsewhere, and I'm not sure that parents (or indeed their children) know how nasty it is!
I was prompted to write to you by a piece in this week's Sunday Times (screenshots attached) to alert people to the dangers.

A letter from America
Dear Bisley Website
As an American visitor to your village in November may I say how beautiful we found it and how nice and kind the residents. We visited both pubs, and only wish we had establishments like this in the States (sadly we just mostly have bars) and on each occasion local people were very happy to 'chat' to us and pass on tips about places to visit etc.
As my husband said as we supped a pint in the Bear, this place is two hundred years older than our actual country! Fabulous!
Thanks so much for your hospitality, can't wait to do it again!

I make no excuse for this being a rant! I am so sick and tired finding dog poo in the churchyard.
For two consecutive days now I have found two very large deposits of dog waste on the ground.
Somebody who must own a sizeable dog is not picking up their pets’ waste.
On both occasions I have taken it upon myself to get rid of it, on one occasion getting it on my hands there was so much of it.
NOT a pleasant experience!
I am a dog owner myself and frequently take my pet through the churchyard so she can stretch her legs.
I ALWAYS know exactly where she is so that I can clean up after her should she need to go to the loo!
If you forget to take a poo bag with you, make a mental note of where the mess is, go home, get a bag and go clean it up.
As a dog owner there is NO excuse for ignoring the deposits your pet makes.
To do so is lazy, irresponsible, and disrespectful, to say nothing of the health hazards it can cause, especially when there are children going through the churchyard on their way to school.
SO to all you dog owners out there I have one message. CLEAN IT UP!!!!
