BISLEY TWINNING ASSOCIATION
Bisley is twinned with Plessala in Brittany, via the Bisley-with-Lypiatt Twinning Association, which was founded in 1992 in response to an approach from the Association de Jumelage in Plessala.
Some sixty miles south-west of St Malo, and part of the commune of Le Mené, Plessala is convenient for visiting Brittany's beautiful north coast and its lovely inland towns and villages.
Our parish and their commune have been exchanging visits once or twice a year since 1993.

2025 TRIP ANNOUNCEMENT:
From John Hughes, of the Bisley-with-Lypiatt Twinning Association:
Fancy a few days in Brittany at the end of May? If so, why not join us for our Twinning Group exchange visit?
The coach departs from Eastcombe early evening on Thursday 29 May and we cross the Channel from Portsmouth to Cherbourg on the overnight ferry. On the Friday, we take a leisurely drive to our destination in Plessala, a rural commune in mid-Brittany, stopping in Normandy for breakfast. There's a stop for lunch and some exploring, with time for a spot of shopping en-route, before we arrive in Plessala at around 5pm to be greeted by our hosts for the weekend.
We depart for our return early on the Monday morning, catching the St Malo-Portsmouth crossing, and are due back in Eastcombe soon after 9pm.
During our stay, we'll be hosted free of charge by a local family, and will enjoy a good mix of time with them, and with the wider group, visiting local attractions. There is usually an evening ‘party’ of some kind.
Thanks to the superb support by members and friends at our social events, the committee can make a substantial financial contribution. The cost of travel will be no more than £150 per person (and we hope will be considerably lower - the more who come, the lower the cost becomes for everyone) plus the cost of a berth in a cabin on the outward journey, if required. A £50 per person deposit will be required by the end of February.
These exchange visits have been taking place since 1993, and you are sure to receive a warm and friendly welcome.

We hope to see you soon.
